Opportunities

Glenbeigh is an exellent starting point for discovering  Kerry.

DSC01658 To the west you can go to Waterville with stunning ocean views  and the possibility of  a boat trip to the Skellig Islands from  Valencia Island or Portmagee.

Central Kerry can be reached via Caragh Lake. This impressive  area is rough and barely gets inhabited.

Within 10 minutes southeast you will reach the mountains  of the  Macgillcuddy's Reeks: a mountain range with the highest mountain in Ireland and also the  Gap of Dunloe with the possibility to explore the Gap with a jaunted car, a horse carrage.

Within half an hour you are in Tralee of Killarney. The latter city in particilar is well worth a visit. There are great shops and the lakes of Killarney are very beautiful. Just outside Killarney you can see Torc waterfall and Muckross House with the surrounding parcs..

Shoppen in KillarneyIf you are willing to drive a little further we recomment:

  • a trip to Dingle,  including the prehistoric Beehives
  • a trip to Molls Gap, towards Kenmare
  • the entire Ring of Kerry
